I’m Leon, I’m the ripe age of 23 and living in New York City.
My background:
I studied economics in my undergrad and then went into software private equity (looked mostly at niche vertical software & real estate tech).
I’m back at my alma mater (UChicago) getting a master’s degree in Computer Science specializing in Data Science / Data Analytics.
What I want to cover here:
I love data - collecting it, dicing it, and extracting fun, important insights. I want to share the trends I’m discovering and build a community to discuss them.
Learning how to code - I came from a traditional finance background (investment banking / private equity) and made the transition over to tech as a software engineer. I will spend time talking about both industries from the perspective of employment & training as well as what I’ve enjoyed and not enjoyed within each.
For those in financial services or looking to move into investment banking and private equity, I think there is TONS of room for software engineers to make the tasks in these industries more efficient and consistent. I really love talking about this and startups that are disrupting the advisory ecosystem.
